叶黄素（Lutein）是一种含氧的类胡萝卜素，在深绿色叶菜中含量较高。多项研究显示，叶黄素主要与脂类共同在胃肠道被人体吸收，随乳糜微粒进入淋巴和血液，而后分布于人体各个组织器官中。进入机体的叶黄素以原型或代谢物的形式经胆汁分泌或经尿液及粪便排泄。本文通过查阅近10年的国内外文献，从吸收、分布、代谢、排泄四方面对叶黄素的体内作用特点作一综述，使人们对其有更深入的了解，以指导临床及日常等各方面合理应用。

Lutein belongs to the xanthophyll family of carotenoids, which are mainly synthesized from dark green leafy plants. There is evidence from several study showed that lutein is mainly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract together with lipids, go into the lymphatic and blood with chylomicrons. Then they distribute in various tissues and organs. They are mainly excreted from the body through kidney and bile, more by their metabolites, few by original forms. In this paper, we summarized the sources, absorption, distribution and metabolism of lutein in the body by searching the literature in recent years.
