西方管理学家对知识的重要性认识比较充分，但对知识创造过程则研究不足。日本思想家野中郁次郎和竹内弘高基于东西方知识论思想的对比研究，总结了日本企业在知识创新上的做法，提出了企业知识创造理论，并为其知识创造理论奠基于牢固的理论基础上。他们的知识创造理论对当今企业知识创新及知识管理理论创新都具有重要的借鉴意义。

The construction of innovative country is our national strategy.Company is the main body of knowledge crea-tion.It is very necessary to study the company’s practice and thought of creation in foreign countries.Foreign scholars’ estimate for the importance of knowledge is sufficient,but the study on knowledge creating process is insufficient.Japanese thinkers,Ikujro Nonaka and Hirotaka Takaeuchi,based on the comparative study between the east and west epistemology, summarized the practice of knowledge creation of Japanese company,and put forward their thoughts of knowledge creation, which set up solid theoretical basis for knowledge creation.Their theory of creation has important reference value for the company’s knowledge creation and theoretical creation of knowledge management.
