教师的关怀行为是一种职业行为，具有关系性、连续性、具体性以及实践性等特征。这四大特征是教师关怀行为不可或缺的必备特征。教师关怀行为的关系性特征，是关怀行为的本质要求，突破了教育中的绝对权威和单一中心论；连续性特征是关怀教育成果的重要保证；具体性特征是教师关怀行为融入具体真实生活的必然选择；实践性特征是教师关怀行为由知识导向转向实践导向的前提条件。
