On the basis of the features of inorganic magnesium hydroxide flame retardant, the paper introduced the flame retardant mechanism of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant. The methods for preparation of magne?sium hydroxide flame retardant were reviewed in detail. The existing problems and development trend of magne?sium hydroxide flame retardant were also discussed.
