常州是我国历史上著名的工商业名城，在纺织业发展的历程中起到了积极的推动作用。本文对古代和近现代常州纺织业发展历史进行了回顾和总结，分析了常州纺织业经历的丝织品的向棉织品发展的过程，也分析了常州纺织业经历了土纺土织、手工织场、机器生产到纺织染共同发展的历史演变过程。

Changzhou is a famous industrial and commercial city in the history. It has played a positive role in promoting the development of the textile industry. The development history of changzhou textile industry has been reviewed and summarized In this paper, Changzhou textile industry has experienced the development process from silk fabric producing to cotton goods making, it has also experienced the folk spinning and weaving, hand weaving , machine producing to common development of spinning weaving and dyeing .
