ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint injection plus double moxibustion in treating primary dysmenorrhea.MethodTotally 96 patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 48 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by acupoint injection with Vitamin K3plus double moxibustion at Shiqizhui (EX-B8) and Guanyuan (CV4); the control group was by oral administration of Ibuprofen Sustained Release Capsules. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) was adopted to evaluate pain degree of the patients. The therapeutic efficacies were assessed after treatments for 3 menstrual cycles. ResultThe VAS scores significantly dropped in both groups after treatment (P<0.05); the change of VAS score in the treatment group after intervention was more significant than that in the control group (P<0.01). The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05).ConclusionAcupoint injection plus double moxibustion is effective in treating primary dysmenorrhea, and its efficacy is more significant than that of oral administration of Ibuprofen Sustained Release Capsules.
