The origin of educational philosophy lies in the attempt to realize self-transformation through life, education and reading. As a living style, education philosophy functions as thought and practices on how to pursue a good life and elevated human nature. As reflections on education per se, philosophy of education is to develop our prudence and modesty through a critique of life’s possibilities and dimensions. As a reading style, educational philosophy is against the kind of blind worship for educational practices that not theoretically sound, and for the type of reading that is driven by enthusiasm and curiosity so as to improve the individual’s imagination, understanding, and sensibility about education and good life.
