The origin, characteristics and harm of landfill leachate were introduced. The treatment method of landfill leachate and membrane separation technology in the treatment of landfill leachate in research and application were also introduced. Main methods were ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis membrane and membrane integrated process, and the characteristics of several membrane separation technologies and in the garbage infiltration leachate treatment in the application were analyzed, the membrane technique separation technology proposed in landfill leachate treatment had good prospects for development.
