As medical reform has entered into crucial stage ,the large public hospitals will face unprecedented profound changes. How to seek development chance in the reform framework of health policy is an inevitable topic in the management of public hospitals. By analyzing the embarrassing situation faced by public hospitals and future serious challenges, we suggest the public hospitals in transition period of health care reform to conduct introspecting for the liability of excessive medical treatment, updating management concept, and fostering humanities spirit in medical practice.
