针对钻探施工中常遇见的坚硬致密强研磨性地层，通过钻头胎体设计和钻头结构设计对金刚石钻头进行了试验研究，并在水电站中进行了推广应用，取得了良好的效果：采用HRC35-40金刚石钻头在坚硬致密的玄武岩中钻进，其平均寿命可以达到70m，平均机械钻速为2m/h；在粗粒花岗岩等地层中钻进，钻头平均机械钻速最高可达2.7m/h，寿命最高能达到50m，比原定指标提高了25%，大大缩短了施工周期，降低了施工成本，满足了钻探施工的要求。

The matrix and structural design of diamond drill bits were experimentally studied for drilling hard and compact formations which is strong abrasive in drilling construction. The diamond bits was then generalized in hydropower stations. The HRC35-40 diamond drill bit was used for a hard dense basalt drilling, and the average life was 70m, with average ROP 2m/h; when drilling in coarse granite formations, the average ROP was up to 2.7m/h, with the maximum life 50m, 25% higher than the original one. It greatly shortened the construction period, and reduced the costs of the construction.
