The paper introduces the practice of South African government performance assessment, founds that there are originality in its setting of assessment cycle, assessment methods, leadership group, participating subject, application of assessment results, etc. It aims to study the status quo of South Africa national government performance assessment to provide a better understanding and to narrow the gap between assessment theory and practice in China.
