生态文明建设作为当前美丽乡村建设中的重要组成部分，生态文明研究也成为近期美丽乡村建设研究的热点问题之一，作为生态文明建设中的重要分支的水生态文明建设，其理论研究和实践问题更关系到美丽乡村建设可持续发展问题。以美丽乡村建设中水生态文明建设的视角对国内外近期研究内容和重点进行综述，并发现其中的研究不足；有关水生态文明建设定性研究比较多，定量研究相对比较少，我国有关水生态文明建设研究内容及主题尤其集中在概念、特征、内涵以及对策等方面，在美丽乡村建设中有关水生态文明建设理论的深层次研究不够，在有关建设工作任务路线图及发展思路等方面的研究较为欠缺。因此，未来有必要借助相关交叉学科的理论和方法客观全面地对美丽乡村水生态文明体系进行理论分析，进一步推动美丽乡村水生态文明建设理论研究水平。
