The latest research progress of high-capacity plate column at home and aboard is introduced. Based on the analysis of the structure of high-capacity plate column, a new classification method is proposed. Meanwhile the domestic and overseas typical plate columns are described in detail. At last, the prospect of the high-capacity plate column is discussed.
