中国图画书在建国后40年迎来了新的繁荣,并在艺术上作出了探索,"统篇文字,分面插图"方式的采纳和开本的多元化,都体现了中国图画书的发展. 但是不足之处也是明显的,内容的浅显单一限制了图画书的格局,太多的政治、时代元素的融入偏离了文学的审美本质.

China's picture books are flourishing 40 years after the founding of the People's Republic of China. They have been trying new art forms such as"text demonstration" and"cover illustration", as well as a diversification of formats, all this symbolizing the development of Chinese picture books. But there is obvious deficiency covering the simple and superficial content constraining the pattern of picture books, and too many elements of politics of the times making them deviated from the aesthetic essence of litera-ture.
