索绪尔在《普通语言学教程》中提出了"能指"与"所指"的概念,将符号进行了进一步清晰的划分,对语言学的发展产生了重大影响.本文介绍了能指与所指的基本思想、二者分离的原因,以及语言运用中的具体例证.能指与所指的关系并不坚固,规范所指一致性,提高人们对语言中能指与所指的警惕性意识,并且依靠语言自我变迁过程中的一致性发展,便可以继续维持语言中语音形象与概念意义的结合.能指与所指的界定为语言学及其它学科的研究提供了新的思路,开辟了新的途径方法.

In Course In General Linguistics, Saussure pointed out signifier and signified, thus further divided symbol in a much clearer way,which also made a big difference in the development of linguistics. This paper introduces the basic ideas of signifier and signified,the reason for their separation, and some examples in language application. The relation between signifier and signified are very vulnerable. Through regulating their consistency, improving people's vigilance, and the development of self-transition, the solidarity of the two elements can be maintained. Signifier and signified provide a new prospective for the study of linguistics as well as other subjects.
