The selection of reference should be observed in casting design as the casting technology was used in civil aircraft products step by step. At first this paper describes the determining of the rough reference and machining reference and gives the general consideration in translation from rough reference to machining reference in casting design. Finally, the reasonable selection of reference is justified by the track-guide groove part which used in aircraft door.
