This paper expounded the process of the propylene unit in an oil refinery and the necessity of control of water content in propylene. By inspection and sampling analysis made to the related equipment,it was determined that the cause for high water content in propylene is the poor dehydration effect of the coalescers and the plugged pipe bundles of cooler E806,which resulted in the slight high temperature and poor dehydration effect of the top reflux drum D803. By treating E806,coalescers D917/1and D917/2,the water content in propylene is up to standard.
