Zhamunong Valley is located in Bomi County, Linzhi Region of Tibet, where the debris flow and landslide occurs frequently. So, it suffers from extremely dangerous geological hazards, which are difficult to prevent and control. To find out the feasible treatment measures and achieve the best effect, the causes of the geological hazards were analyzed, and the treatment schemes of excavating the tunnel spillways for flood discharge were explored and discussed. The size of spillway was determined in terms of the inundation level of barrier lake, the impacts of the increased water level on lower stream, the selection of the cross-section of tunnel spillway, etc. The implementation of this project will provide reference for the treatment of debris flow in-duced by large scaled landslide and prevention of the secondary flood disaster.
