Communicative Language Teaching(CLT), as one of the typical facilitative techniques, emphasizes the needs and desires of learners as well as the connection between the language as it is taught in class and as it used outside the classroom. This paper focuses on CLT and its application in the context of vocational English courses in China to prove that CLT can enhance teaching and learning in vocational English class. The paper introduces some characteristics of CLT first, next analyzes the vocational Eng?lish language teaching in China, and then shows some functions of CLT , finally, it explains how to apply CLT in vocational English courses in China according to the teaching reality.
