The differences of cultures make people give numbers different imaginations and meanings. Numbers play a very important role in cultures. Chinese and American have their own understandings about numbers. Except the denotations for calculation of numbers, numbers also have their connotations. The connotations of numbers have been created by people through different cultures, religion beliefs and so on. People use those connotations to express the philosophy of life. Both lucky numbers and taboo numbers are very important in the culture of numbers. In the daily life of Chinese and American, people are often deeply influenced by the connotations of lucky numbers and taboo numbers. Some people even make some decisions depending on their lucky numbers or taboo numbers.
