“西楼”在唐代诗歌中被诗人们反复使用，实现了从表达实体意义到用以写意抒怀的成功转换，完成了这一意象的生成过程。唐诗中的“西楼”意象，往往跟其他意象如动作意象“登”、自然意象“月”、时间意象“秋”等组合在一起，表达出登临、遣怀、送别、闺怨等中国古代诗词中常见的抒情主题。“西楼”意象在唐诗中积淀了丰厚的美学意蕴，并为唐以后的韵体文学如宋词、元曲中所继承和发扬，从而成为中国古代文学中一个内蕴丰厚的经典意象。
“서루”재당대시가중피시인문반복사용，실현료종표체실체의의도용이사의서부적성공전환，완성료저일의상적생성과정。당시중적“서루”의상，왕왕근기타의상여동작의상“등”、자연의상“월”、시간의상“추”등조합재일기，표체출등림、견부、송별、규원등중국고대시사중상견적서정주제。“서루”의상재당시중적정료봉후적미학의온，병위당이후적운체문학여송사、원곡중소계승화발양，종이성위중국고대문학중일개내온봉후적경전의상。
“The west building” is used by the Tang Dynasty poets repeatedly in their poems, realizes the con-version from expressing the entity meaning to the poet’ s complex emotions, and completes its imagery of the gener-ative process. Such image in the Tang poetry, often tends to be combined with other image such as action image“climb”, natural image “the moon”, time image "autumn", expressing the familiar lyrical themes including the climb, the release, the farewell, or the sorrow in boudoir etc. in ancient Chinese poems. The image of “the west building” in Tang poetry has accumulated rich aesthetic connotation, and is inherited and developed in the rhyme literature of Song Ci and Yuan Qu, and eventually become the classical image with rich connotations in the ancient Chinese literary.
