美国女权运动先驱夏洛特。珀金斯。吉尔曼在其代表作《黄墙纸》中揭露了19世纪末中产阶级妇女的思想和行为受到男权至上的父权文化控制的痛苦经历。文章通过社会性别学分析《黄墙纸》中“我”的思想受到丈夫禁锢后身心所发生的变化，探究其历史根源，并揭示正是传统的、落后的父权文化为了维护其统治地位而剥夺了女性的思想及其话语权，将其置于备受压迫的第二性的他者地位。

Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the forerunner of America feminist movement, has revealed the miserable experience of the middle class women whose thoughts and behaviors have been controlled by the patriarchal culture in her master work The Yellow Wallpaper. This study, applying the gender theory, aims to analyze the changes of mind and body after“my”thoughts have been controlled by the husband, explores the root of it, disclose that it is the traditional and uncultured patriarchy that has deprived fe?male’s thoughts and discourse rights to preserve male’s dominant position, which puts female in the oppressed and the Other posi?tion.
