The article reviews Analyzing Multimodal Interaction:A Methodological Framework written by Sigrid Norris. In the book, a methodological framework on multimodal interaction analysis is put forward. In the book, Norris categorizes the structure of multimodal interaction, introduces the main modes involved in the multimodal interactions and the features of these modes, ad?vances a system to transcribe the multimodal interactions, and offer some important concepts like modal density, the levels of atten?tion/awareness, foreground-background continuum. In this methodological framework, a new angle is taken to analyze multimodal interactions, which is of great significance.
