In this paper ,a monitoring and controlling system for reduced iron cooling based on PLC and WinCC is in‐troduced .This system has been adopted in rotary and water spray cooler in rotary hearth iron producing ,and it works well . The feature of the cooling process ,the cooler are described in details ,as well as the system scheme ,hardware system and software system of this cooling system . This system can real‐time monitor and concentrate manage the cooling process through adopting PLC as the control centre ,touch screen as human machine interface and industrial personal computer as ad‐ministration center .
