OLED的高响应速率的特点可以作为电/光转换器件应用到通信领域,尤其是红色有机电致发光器件(R-OLED)与聚合物光纤(POF)低损耗窗口相匹配,可以与有机光探测器(OPD)共同集成到POF上。为了提高传输功率和传输距离,要求通信光源具有高输出功率,面向短距离局域网络有机光纤通信系统设计一组基于染料Ir(piq)2acac不同结构的R-OLED,其中混合母体中间层结构相比于单发光层器件,最大电流效率提高了66%。提出的结构可以有效提高器件效率,结合新材料可以得到更高输出功率信号源。

Organic Light Emitting Device (OLED) is able to act as an electrical/optical conversion device for application in the field of optical communication due to its high response speed. In particular, red OLEDs (R-OLEDs) of the suitable wavelength can be integrated with organic light detector (OPD) on polymer optical fiber (POF) to assemble organic fiber-optic communication LAN system because OLEDs can be deposited on various substrates under room ambient. As an electrical/optical conversion device, high emission efficiency would be of great importance. In this paper, we fabricated a set of R-OLEDs based on Ir (piq)2acac with different device structures. The device efficiency is increased to 5.2 cd/A by utilizing intermixed host structure, which improves 66%as compared to the reference device. Device with the structure of new material would achieve a quite high efficiency as optical source.
