创新能力的培养是人才培养中的重要方面，而数学建模是最能体现创新能力的一项科技竞赛活动。为了研究数学建模对创新型人才培养的促进作用，以人才培养的相关理论为支撑，以数学建模竞赛实践为依托和主要载体，以提高人才培养质量为主线，依托专业基础、普及、选拔、提高、展示和拓展六大平台，建立了一个“六位一体”的创新型人才培养模式。该模式应用于专业人才培养实践，取得了较好的效果。
