The mineral processing production of a W-Mo-Bi poly-metallic mine in Hunan generates large volumes of wastewater containing a variety of residual flotation reagents and heavy metal ions. If discharged directly, the moneral processing wastewaer will cause a big waste of water resources and environmental pollution. The wastewater can't be reused in ore dressing production directly. After treated by biologics complex-oxidation technique, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) value and heavy metal ions concentration of the wastewater were reduced greatly. The laboratory contrast flotation experiments between different water samples, including 0# tap water, 1# treated water and 2# water sample taken from tailings pond, have been conducted. Experimental results indicate that the effect of flotation using 1# treated water is almost the same as using 0# tap water. Thus, 1# water can be reused in flotation process. The mineral processing indexes using 2# tailing pond water are lower than those of 0# tap water and 1# treated water, which means 2# water can't be recycled in flotation process currently.
