Welding coefficients in common structural rules (CSR) and harmonised common structural rules (CSR-H) have been induced and qualitatively analyzed to determine the influence factors. FEM analysis method of utilization factors of welding coefficients is presented to set up the stress standard of weld strength. It carries out the extraction of welding stresses and the calculation of the utilization factors of the welding coefficients according to the hull structures of thirteen CSR ships to obtain the statistical results of the utilization factors of the various fillet welding of CSR ships. The accuracy and applicability of weld strength standard and weld stress formula are validated through the weld strength tests of the stub and batten girder.
