The paper studies some critical procedures for manufacturing the crane reel mechanism, and improves cer-tain bottleneck process in the critical production flow.Through research, development, and repeated site test, the mechani-cal cleaning technology for straight welded joint and circumferential weld, and automatic submerged arc welding for narrow gaps are successfully applied in reel production, which has significantly improved production efficiency of reel products.
