Seal performance of automobile doors is one of the important influencing factors for vehicle’s wind noise level. In this paper, the seal mechanism of main components of automobile doors was analyzed. The relevant methods for noise-leak control were presented. Taking the noise-leak problem of the rear door of a SUV automobile, the abnormal wind noise was eliminated through the seal optimization of the door. The improvement targets in both subjective evaluation and objective testing were achieved.
