“鸟言兽语”之争伴随着童话传入中国的进程始终没有停止，但论争的双方和焦点都在不断变化。1920年代周作人等人与保守派论争的焦点集中在国民性“猫化狗化”上；1930年代童话题材开始左转，论争焦点转移到“鸟言兽语”是否“赤化”青少年思想上。通过这些争辩，童话作为儿童文学的主要形式、“鸟言兽语”作为童话的重要形式，这一观念开始深入人心。

Arguments on Animal's Language never stopped along with the spread of tales,but the characters and focus of the arguments have constantly changed.In the 1920s Zhou Zuoren and others had a heated dispute a-bout cat like and dog like national characters and in the 1930s themes of tales turned left.They began to focus on the possible communization of Animal's language to the thought of the young people.Through those arguments,in tales which are the major forms of children's literature,animal's language is the most important form that was deep-ly ingrained in the Chinese society.
