基于文化翻译理论，以《纽约时报》中收集到的567个中国特色词汇为研究样本，对《纽约时报》在翻译中国特色词汇时采取的主要翻译策略进行了研究。同时，也对其2007年和2013年采取的翻译策略进行了历时对比。研究结果显示，《纽约时报》在翻译中国特色词汇时主要采取了5种翻译策略。其中，直译、音译和意译是主要的翻译策略，而异化翻译策略有明显的上升趋势。该研究可为中国特色词汇的翻译提供启发和借鉴，以便更好地促进中国文化的传播和影响力。

Based on the cultural translation theory and the researching samples of 567 expressions with Chinese characteristics collected in The New York Times,the author analyzed the major translation strategies a-dopted in translating expressions with Chinese characteristics in The New York Times,and also made a dia-chronic study on the translation strategies used both in 2007 and in 2013. The research results reveal that in translating expressions with Chinese characteristics,The New York Times mainly adopts five translation strate-gies,main translation strategies of which are literal transliteration,transliteration and liberal translation,with an obviously increasing trend of foreignization translation. This study can provide inspiration and reference for the translation of expressions with Chinese characteristics so as to promote the communication and influence of Chi-nese culture.
