木瓜属(Chaenomeles L.)全属共有5种，山东均有栽培分布，种质资源丰富，有临沂(皱皮木瓜)、菏泽(木瓜)两个传统产区。近十数年尤其是临沂产区观赏栽培发展迅速，已达数亿产值规模。共整理记录传统品种、专业机构审定的选育或引进品种、公开发表的选育或引进品种58个，包括果、药用品种29个，观赏品种29个。目前存在的主要问题是优良品种资源数量少，尤其是观赏品种过分依赖引进品种、缺乏主流品种，品种推广缺乏秩序。应尽快制定优良品种育种目标，动员相关力量参与选育工作，规范新品种推广秩序，保证木瓜产业健康可持续发展。

The genus of ChaenomelesL. included 5 species. All these 5 species were cultivated and distributed in Shandong. There are two traditional production areas, i.e. Linyi (Wrinkle skin pawpaw) and Heze (pawpaw). Ornamental cultivation ofChaenomeles L were developed rapidly in Linyi production area in recent more than10 years, and the value of production reached hundreds of millions of yuan. Total 58 varieties, including traditional varieties, improved varieties or imported varieties authorized by specialized institution were recorded. Among them there were 29 fruit and medicinal varieties, 29 ornamental varieties. The existing problems are the less of fine varieties, especially ornamental varieties depend on imported varieties, are short of mainstream variety and the variety promotion is disordered. The breeding goal of fine variety of pawpaw should be established earlier. Variety selection work should be developed, and the order of variety promotion should be standardized to ensure the healthy and sustained development of pawpaw industry.
