材料力学是土木工程专业一门重要的专业基础课,同时又是较难掌握的一门课程.为提高材料力学课程的教学质量和效果,结合该课程特点及教学现状,主要从教学内容、教学模式和实验教学等方面进行探讨,明确提出一些有益的改革建议,即:教学内容应适合土木工程专业的学科特点;有必要引入力学史和有限元在材料力学中应用等知识;为激发学生的学习积极性,教学手段上拟采用板书和多媒体结合的方式,在教学方式上则采用引导学生主动学习的方式;实验教学与理论教学同堂教学,增加实验室的开放时间,鼓励学生多动手,独立完成实验.

Material mechanics curriculum is an important and difficult basic professional curriculum for civil engineering specialty. To achieve better teaching effect, some useful suggestions are proposed on teaching content, teaching mode and experiment teaching. They include: to base the choice of teaching content on the disciplinary nature of civil engineering and involve some knowledge such as the history of mechanics as well as the application of finite element in material mechanics; to integrate the use of blackboard and multimedia system in classroom teaching to engage students and arouse their interest in learning; to integrate the teaching of theory and the teaching of experiment, increase the time for laboratory use so as to encourage students to complete the experiment independently.
