The waterproof and breathable mechanism of fabrics and the influencing factors of fabric moisture transmission were analyzed. The conditions and technical methods of waterproof and breathable finishing used for fabrics were summarized. And the relationship between moisture transmission and comfortableness was elabora-ted, which included the relationship between warmth and comfortableness as well as that between permeability and comfortableness.
