Warfarin is one of the most frequently prescribed anticoagulant and there is significant indi-vidual variability in dose requirement for the clinical effect. Gene polymorphisms are the important factors that can influence the anticoagulant effect of warfain. Recently, warfarin gene polymorphisms become a re-search topic and a large number of individualized medication algorithms have been established. This article reviews warfarin dosage related gene polymorphisms in order to offer some suggestions for warfarin individ-ualized medication.
