Nanshe came onto the historical stage with its advocate of political revolution through poems, which in turn led to its gradual withdrawal from literary activities due to poetic controversies.Poems by Nanshe members expressed literati' s strong de-sire to participate in political reforms and their national and homeland narration at the end of Qing dynasty.This became the spec-tacular coda of classic Chinese poetry in the transition from tradition to modernity.
