统一潮流控制器(unified power flow controller,UPFC)作为高度可控的柔性交流输电系统(flexible AC transmission system,FACTS)装置,保护系统是其实现动态性能的保障,是安全、可靠、高效运行的基础.统一潮流控制器装置能否在电力系统中充分发挥其调节潮流、增强稳定性、提高电网传输能力等方面的作用,保护系统极为关键.综述基于模块化多电平换流器(modular multilevel converter,MMC)的统一潮流控制器本体结构、本体保护配置、控制保护系统设计、本体保护对系统的影响4个方面的研究,分析国内外研究现状,评述各种保护方案的优缺点,指出研究的重点、难点,并对相关技术的发展趋势与仍需解决的关键性问题做出展望.

Since the unified power flow controller (UPFC) is one of the typical, highly controlled flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices, control and protection system is the guarantee of achieving dynamic capability and the basis of safe, stable and efficient operation. Control and protection system is extremely important in determining whether the UPFC can play a role in adjusting the power flow, enhancing stability and improving transmission capacity, etc. An overview is made in four aspects of UPFC based on modular multilevel converter (MMC), including body structure, protection configuration, control and protection strategies, protection coordination of body and system, and domestic and overseas research status is also involved. The advantages and disadvantages of different control and protection schemes are discussed. Key and difficult points are pointed out, and the development trend of relevant technologies and the key issues need to be solved are projected.
