威宁"蔡家人"由区别于其他民族的传统社会职业、服饰、语言等内容而建构了"自我"与"他者"的区分.但在社会转型的今天,该群体呈现了对"蔡族"、彝族、汉族多民族认同现象. 笔者调查发现,生活在多族群、多元文化背景下的蔡家人,他们的认同并不是一个单一、孤立的文化因素或者外界政治、经济环境的变动能够解释清楚的. 他们的认同是历时与共时、内因与外因、客观因素与主观因素共同作用的结果.

Cai-jia people in Weining are different from other ethnic groups in traditional social career, cos-tumes, language and the like. Therefore, they have constructed a distinction between "selves" and "others". However, at present when the society is experiencing transformation, that group has demonstrated a tendency of ethnic identity with other ethnic groups such as"Cai", Yi, and Han. In the investigation, the writer of the pa-per has found that living under the multiethnic and multi-cultural background, the identity by the Cai-jia people cannot be explained clearly by a single and isolated cultural factor or the change of the external political and eco-nomic environment. The ethnic identity of Cai-jia people results from the joint effect of diachronic and syn-chronic, internal and external, subjective and objective aspects.
