海龙为我国传统温肾壮阳药，始载于《本草纲目拾遗》。海龙科动物大多分布于南海，据《南海鱼类志》记载产于我国有17属30种，绝大多数生活在浅海，极少数生活在淡水和河口。海龙富含许多生物活性成分，包括总甾体类化合物、蛋白质、人体必需氨基酸、微量元素 Zn、Mn、Cu 等。具有温肾壮阳，延缓衰老，抗肿瘤，增强机体免疫力，加强心肌收缩力，缓解骨质疏松，降低胆固醇，治疗老年性痴呆症等作用。归纳总结国内外文献，详细综述海龙药理作用，为其临床应用、新药开发提供更深入的科学依据。
