Yolk antibodies ( IgY) is the major antibody produced by hens. When laying hens are immunized by specific antigen, we can derived specific IgY from these specific eggs lay by immunized hens. The production of IgY is simple and relatively inexpensive. IgY has been widely used in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention. In this article, the application of IgY in viral diseases prevention, treatment and detection will be discussed.
