Main issues related to short range eclipsing effect in linear frequency modulation (LFM) pulse compres-sion radar are analyzed, these include impact of switching time of transmit receive (T R) switch on short range eclipsing effect, as well as signal to noise ratio (SNR) variation of the echo, range and angle measurement ac-curacy in the event of short range eclipsing. Measures which can be taken to eliminate the short rang eclipsing effect are also discussed.
