The paper demonstrates the reliability of paste crawling storage technique under the condition of concentrated tailing pond storage in high and cold abrupt slope narrow groove with rainfall and under the condition of concentrated rainfall. Combining the characteristics of tailing dry heaping,it solves the problem that in narrow groove and abrupt slope tailings will easily form debris-flow valleys. By using tailings crawling discharge in step type from top to down,building flood prevention surging sub - dam,using overall seepage - proofing and eliminating seepage,operation along with reclamation,and other effective measurements,it can guarantee the stability of tailing pond during frozen tailing melting period.
