整体教学思想是现代外语教育教学研究的重大成果,而如何在小学英语教学中有效地实施语篇整体教学还是一个亟待深入探究的课题。文章以小学五年级学生为研究对象,发现在小学英语中开展语篇整体教学有利于提高学生用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析和解决问题的能力,能逐步培养学生用英语进行思维和表达的能力;对培养学生的学习习惯、终身学习英语的能力与本领裨益无穷。实施整体教学时需要注意:整体教学宜整不宜分,整合教材是实施的前提,提高听读技巧是基本功,主线明晰是中枢支架,组建有序合作的学习小组是实施的中心环节,教学程序的完整性是有效延展,创设连贯性语景与任务是必由之路,超文本建设整体识词情景是有益补充;同时,教师必须坚持自己的主导地位。

The whole teaching thought is a major achievement of modern teaching research of foreign language education .But how to im-plement the whole discourse teaching effectively in the primary school English teaching is still a subject to be explored urgently .The author ,tak-ing the grade five students as the research object ,finds that the whole discourse teaching is of great benefits to improve students’ ability to ac-quire information ,process information ,analyze and solve problems in English .It can also gradually develop the students’ ability of thinking and expressing in English and it is good for the cultivation of students’ learning habits ,the ability to learn English as well .Attention should be paid to the implementation of the whole teaching :The author thinks that the contents of the teaching should be integrated because integrated teaching material is the premise of the implementation ,and the clear main line of the text is the central support ,the formation of an orderly and coopera-tive learning group is the central link of the implementation ,the integrity of the teaching program is an effective extension ,the creation of coher-ence and task is the only way ,and the hypertext construction of the overall situation of the word recognition is a useful supplement .In the mean-while ,teachers must adhere to their dominant position .
