The widely-used vacuum paint impregna-tion (VPI) process, capable to fill the insulting paint into the inside of the stator windings, made the impregnated stator coil and steel core to form an integrated part. However, it would be very difficult to pull-down the windings from the stator slot. A kind of pull-down machine in purpose to pull down the stator windings of HV motors when repairing it was introduced.
