The paper takes the engineering as the example to analyze the impact on four factors of different rock types un -der earthquakes ,such as the strength of rock ,the integrity of rock mass ,the state of structural surfaces ,the state of ground water.The paper is an elementary discussion about the cause of broken on brittle rock ,it has a guiding on surrounding rock classification of tunnel ,that is situated in sharp earthquake zone .
