The aim was to develop a model of quantitative analysis of melamine content of milk powder by infrared spectroscopy and provide theoretical basis for the nondestructive detection of melamine. Linear model was respectively set up by taking an absorption peak of 1 550 cm -1 as characteristic absorption peak. The correlation coefficient of linear model was 0.999 2 and the recovery was 98.89%. Its advantages include low analytic limitation,high accuracy and excellent stability. It was feasible to determine melamine content of milk powder by using the linear model quantitatively.
