在铜仁方言的单字调中，主要包含升拱形、平拱形、降拱形和凹拱形四种，其调形格局可分为高平、低平、高降、低升和高平、低凹、高降、前凹等两种类型。而在时长与拱形、高度的关系上，一般表现为平拱形或升拱形的时长大于降拱形的时长，低升拱形的时长又大于高升拱形的时长，低调的时长大于高调的时长。

Tones of the Tongren dialect contains four basic types, arisingarch, alevelarch, afallingarch and aconcavearch. The tone pattern of the Tongren dialect canbe divided in to two types: one is high pitch tone, low pitch tone, high falling to ne and low rising tone; the other is high pitch tone, low falling rising tone, falling rising tone and falling and high rising tone.
