A high precision infrared distance measuring and alarming system, which is based on infrared range sensor, STC89C52 microcontroller and the principle of triangulation, was designed and implemented. Experimental results show that the display of the distance with high accuracy and low time delay is realized in a range of 20 cm to 150 cm.
