通过收集整理龙潭组煤炭及页岩气勘探资料，分析了传统煤炭资源分布规律，并从页岩气发育地球化学特征及泥页岩内部结构特征等方面对页岩气发育条件进行了研究。认为煤炭资源的分布受龙潭组沉积时期海陆过渡沉积体系的控制，有利成煤区在川贵地区成条带状分布，湘、赣、浙等省呈透镜体状分布。上扬子板块的川南地区、下扬子板块黔北地区和南京地区龙潭组中均取得了较好的含气显示，是页岩气勘探开发的重点区域。

The gas showed good content in southern Sichuan of upper Yangtze plate, northern Guizhou of lower Yangtze plate and Nanjing Longtan Formation, they are key areas of shale gas exploration and development.
